Job Description

 Role and Responsibility

  • Ensure that all processes and activities conducted in the chain pharmacies are carried out in a manner compliant with FDA standards.
  • Ensure that the premises are suitable for the intended purpose, and complies with FDA standard and all other relevant guidance issued.
  • Overseas all professional activities carried out in the medicine retail outlet.
  • Manage, control, and supervise the pharmacy.
  • Keep that every key, key card or another device, or combination of any device, which allows access to the controlled substances storage area when it is locked.
  • Prohibit any individual from improperly influencing, directing, controlling or supervising the professional activity of the pharmacy.
  • Apply policies and procedures for all personnel operating in pharmacy in accordance with current law and best practice.
  • Attend normal working hour of the pharmacy, at the professional services area of the practice.
  • Ensure that all personnel operating within chain pharmacy are aware of the limits and scope applicable to the management of the professional services.
  • Ensure that all members of the pharmacy team possess and maintain adequate competence to successfully and safely carry out their assigned duties.

  • Inform to the prescriber and report to the appropriate organ, suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and suspected fake and substandard medicines.
  • Ensure the implementation of the principles of rational drug use, good storage practice, good supply management, and good dispensing practice of medicines.
  • Purchase all medicinal products, cosmetics, consumable products, and home health care products upon approval from the supply chain manager.
  • Avail written policies for the procurement, storage, and dispensing of medicine and scheduled substances. The written policies shall assist in ensuring; product availability; safety of medicines; documentation of procurement and dispensing process; optimal storage conditions are monitored (including during transport); effective inventory management; Patients receive stock that has been suitably stored and has an expiry date that allows sufficient time for usage by the patient before the expiry date; and effective batch recall of medicines when necessary.
  • Shall be satisfied that both the supplier and the source of any medicine purchased are trustworthy and recorded.
  • Assimilate quality assurance as part of pharmaceutical practice.
  • Undertake stock exchange or transfer among hubs and spoke of chain pharmacies.
  • Assure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for pharmacy operations.

Job Requirements

  • BPharm in Pharmacy from a recognized and qualified higher education institution
  • 5 years and above experience in community Pharmacy out of which 2 years and above as a manager
  • MSc in the health-related subject an asset
  • Demonstrate experience maintaining with empathy an appropriate balance between the organization’s needs and the welfare of staff.
  • Demonstrate experience in data retrieval and analysis
  • Experience of partnering with and influencing stakeholders
  • Demonstrate experience in delivering briefings to diverse audiences, and conducting effective meeting with management, representative of staff associations etc.
